How to Pay the HOBY Registration Fee

Here are helpful Frequently Asked Questions (and answers) to assist school administrators in paying the registration fee using HOBY’s online registration system.  Have your school ID and password ready and follow the instructions below after you log in at https://reg.hoby.org/HOBYReg/login.aspx.  (Only school administrators are granted school IDs and passwords.  Sorry, parents and students.)

HOW DO I PAY BY CREDIT CARD ONLINE?

  1. After finding the student for whom payment should be made, click the Action button and select “Payment Options” from the dropdown menu.
  2. Click “Pay with Credit Card” and enter all the pertinent information.
  3. Ensure that the amount you wish to pay is correct, then click “Submit Payment.”
  4. An email confirmation will be sent to you, the student, and the email address entered with the payment.

HOW DO I PAY BY CREDIT CARD BY MAIL?

  1. After finding the student for whom payment should be made, click the Action button and select “Generate Invoice” from the dropdown menu.
  2. Print the invoice and complete the entire Payment Details section.
  3. Mail the completed invoice to the address listed on the invoice.
  4. An email confirmation will be sent to you, the student, and the email address entered in the Payment Details.

HOW DO I PAY BY CHECK OR MONEY ORDER?

  1. After finding the student for whom payment should be made, click the Action button and select “Payment Options” from the dropdown menu.
  2. Click “Pay with Check” and print the invoice.
  3. Ensure that the check/money order is made payable to “HOBY” and contains the invoice number and/or school ID.
  4. Mail the invoice and the check/money order to the address listed on the invoice and listed above.

HOW DO I ENTER A PURCHASE ORDER NUMBER FOR BILLING?

  1. After finding the student for whom payment should be made, click the Action button and select “Payment Options” from the dropdown menu.
  2. Enter your Purchase Order Number in the appropriate box and click “Pay with PO/Invoice.”
  3. Print the invoice and deliver it to your accounting or billing department for payment.
  4. DO NOT SEND THE UNPAID INVOICE TO HOBY.

WE’VE SUBMITTED A PURCHASE ORDER. WHY AREN’T WE PAID?  

Please note that Purchase Orders are NOT a method of payment. Please do not mail purchase orders to our office unless a signature or verification is needed. Purchase orders do not guarantee that your student is accepted into the program. Only a fully paid registration fee will secure your student’s spot.

I BELIEVE PAYMENT HAS ALREADY BEEN SUBMITTED, BUT WE’RE UNPAID IN THE SYSTEM.  WHAT DO I DO NOW?

Please fax or email a front and back a copy of the canceled check to 818-851-3999 or registration@hoby.org. Please include your high school name, student’s name, school ID number and/or invoice number on the document.

WE ARRANGED PAYMENT WITH A LOCAL ORGANIZATION OR BUSINESS, BUT WE’RE UNPAID IN THE SYSTEM.  WHAT DO I DO NOW?

Follow the steps in the “TO PAY BY CHECK OR MONEY ORDER” section above to print the invoice, and follow up with the organization to ensure that payment is sent to HOBY in a timely manner. If you are unable to provide the organization with the invoice, it is imperative that they include your high school name, student’s name, and school ID number on the check.

THE STUDENT’S PARENTS ARE SUPPOSED TO PAY, BUT WE’RE UNPAID IN THE SYSTEM.  WHAT DO I DO NOW? 

Follow the steps in the “TO PAY BY CHECK OR MONEY ORDER” section above to print the invoice and send the invoice home with the student.
