World Hunger Leadership Challenge

The World Hunger Leadership Challenge was created by the USA TODAY Charitable Foundation and the Lift a Life Foundation, with assistance from the Yum! Foundation, to encourage middle and high school students to hone leadership skills by completing a service-learning project that solves hunger issues.

Maximum Grant Amount:  $25,000

Deadline:  April 17, 2015

Participants must:

  • Be full-time students in grades 7-12 of a public, private or charter middle school or high school and between the ages of 13-18 years
  • Be residents of one of the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia or Guam
  • Complete all ten Lead2Feed lessons
  • Select a 501(c)(3) hunger charity with which to partner for their project
  • Work in teams of at least three
  • Have a teacher or adult advisor work with them during their project
